The 3rd annual JSU STEM Camp, sponsored by a $25,000 ExxonMobil Foundation Grant, was held June 1-5 and educated 40 rising 10th-12th-graders. Students learned from ExxonMobil employees, professors, and 11 summer staff instructors about the theme “Algorithms and Energy.” Yazoo County students were actively recruited by the ISD to attend the camp, which is in an area with upcoming ExxonMobil projects and operations. The final student showcase was attended by employees, community leaders, parents, and invited media. Students received a certificate of achievement from the Governor of Mississippi.
